It’s a cluster of mushroom sprouting beasties!
Really, that was all that was in my head when making these ones. it wasn’t till they were done that I remembered that most of the mushroom lives underground. That the parts we see are only a small ‘fruiting body’ developed to spread spores.
What that says about these triplet beasties I will not speculate upon.
