Greeper and Cranst

This was a big challenge for me. I’ve toyed with several variations of ‘small beastie reaching towards bigger one’. This particular started with an idea of an angler fish beastie with a present for bait. Of course, the beasties never follow the game plan. Instead of a fish it came out more like a spiky, star-nosed mole.

The expression on the smaller, child beastie is hat makes the piece for me. They are completely oblivious to any peril. Maybe they aren’t even in peril, maybe this is less predatory than I fear. Maybe nosey is just giving tiny tot a present.

Maybe.

Measuring five inches long and three high, this is one of my larger pieces to date, which is a challenge itself. I’ m very satisfied with the results.
