Lush Supreme

This is one of the most elaborate single statues I have ever attempted. It is also, as goofy as it looks, one of the more personal.

It started as just another triple beastie, which is my favorite series to make. Then I added a bottle, then another, and then the idea of it metamorphosed. It now has representations of every type of drunk I’ve ever had. And after nearly fourteen years in New Orleans, that is quite a few I can tell you.

At the center is a tiny grumpy drunk. In the middle, the enabling drunk. You’ve happy drunks, gabby drunks, literal two faced drunks. Each sculpted with a combination of intuition and intent. The bottles themselves are all different and some of them weigh more than a small statue on their own.

What’s great is the whole thing is leaning, and the pile of bottles are literally providing the support it needs to function.

There’s just… a lot going on here. I can only hope it amuses you as much as it does me.
