Nudibranches Amazingcus

I have always loved nudibranchs, those odd sea slugs that fill the oceans with remarkable beauty. They are known for their ethereal frills and bright colors. And that’s the problem, I largely work in monochromatic bronze, and without their colors most attempts to sculpt sea slugs just look like frilled snot.

Not so with this beauty! Although cartoonish in nature this beastie has captured the very essence of the nudibranch order! With twisting branches instead of frills, mostly because I can’t resist a pun, their toothy smile and amorphous body fill me with absolute joy.

Then, because I can never be boring, I gave them a little friend. Who looks partially like a different kind of slug and a little like a dumbo octopus. I can only imagine what adventures these two will go on in the shoals and shallows!

Approx.. 2.5 inches high and 3 inches long.
