10th Anniversary Piece - The Beasties at Ten Argyros Lane.

Happy anniversary to me!

These three pieces are something special. You see, over a dozen years ago, before I was a beastie maker I was making jewelry with PMC3, a fine silver metal clay. As the price of silver rose, I switched to bronze. Then a decade ago I made my first beastie.

That’s right, the beasties are now 10 years old! And to celebrate, I wanted to make one big beastie in .999 fine silver.

This beastie combines all of my favorite series from the last ten years. Beasties within beasties, building beasties, forest beasties. It even has a little fez, because fezzes are cool.

Unlike some of my more elaborate pieces, I’m not trying to tell a specific story here. Because this piece represents My story as a sculptor. It has a little bit of everything I’ve learned. From textures to expressions. Balance and movement. It is, not a self portrait of me, but of my beastie skills.

I am inordinately proud of it.
