There's Always a Bigger Fish

Okay okay, my nerdiness might be showing on this one.

This beastie is an extension of my ‘beasties in beasties’ series, or ‘doubles’ as I have them on the shop site. Never before have I made one so obviously devouring each other layer of beastie. And this has two very direct sources that I’m referencing with the title.

One, the nursery wallpaper in Addams Family Values. Which depicts a fish eating a smaller fish eating a smaller fish.

Two, the bongo scene in Phantom Menace.

There is always a bigger fish.

(I specifically did not look up either of those scenes before I started sculpting. I didn’t want those creatures to directly influence my beasties. It’s just the message I’m going for. The Joie De Vivre.)

In true Addams fashion, this is one of the only pieces I’ve put a hole in the back of specifically if you wanted to mount it on the wall like the world’s strangest fishing trophy.
